eDiets & a new blog

Confession--I need some help to achieve a goal of mine.  I've been in a little funk. If you're a regular reader or if you know me personally, you will know that a few years back, I was 50 pounds heavier. I worked hard to lose that weight and was able to maintain it on my own....until a few months back when I stopped losing. I think it's been a lack of willpower and discipline, but I have found a few pounds creeping back up. My 12s no longer fit and as much as I do embrace my curves, I do not embrace any weight gain since I worked so hard to lose what I lost and still haven't hit my goal. It's been a long "plateau" phase for me.

I signed up for eDiets on Saturday.  I began yesterday morning. I do not believe in fad diets.  I believe in lifestyle changes that I can stick to for good. I've altered my goal weight a few times over the years. There are times when I've been perfectly content to be a 12 or a 14 and stick to the weight I have lost.  I deserve to be happy and healthy and to feel content the size I am, but I am not happy seeing some of this weight creep back on. My ultimate goal weight is to be 140 to 145 pounds. I am going to achieve that goal.

I am a curvy girl and always will be--whether I am a size 8, 10, or 18.

I would like to someday go off of my blood pressure medication.  Ironically, my BP was perfect when I weighed over 200 pounds, but it got dangerously high after my initial weight loss. I still require medication despite living a healthy lifestyle.

I need some help sticking to a plan and that is where eDiets and this blog--and my audience--comes in. I need to be held more accountable for my eating choices. If I put this weight loss goal out there, I know I'm more apt to stick with it.

With over 20 plans from which to choose on eDiets, there really is something for everyone. It was easy for me to choose a plan, actually. I took the questionnaire and it came up with the top recommended plans for me.  I chose the New Mediterranean Plan.  The reason I chose this is because I already eat most of these foods and because the menus looked great. I do not like processed or frozen meals anyway, so eating lots of fruits, veggies, fish, and poultry is easy.

I also get to eat lots of stuff! I am sometimes guilty of skipping breakfast and today I got to eat a Special K Cereal Bar in Chocolaty Pretzel, string cheese, yogurt, almonds, strawberries, and raspberries. I was super full.

Follow my journey daily over on my brand new food blog. I plan to track what I eat, share recipes, and share great fashion finds with you along the way--no matter what your size. Like I said before, I am not looking to get skinny. I am looking to get as fit and healthy as possible, reach that ultimate goal and continue to embrace these curves I've been given.
