Hello! It's a damp and cold 30-something day once again in Rochester, but I am feeling positively giddy.
One of my favorite places...this was from a game we saw last August.
It is Opening Day of baseball season! As an avid Yankees fan, I am excited about this and will be watching the Tigers-Yankees game in about 20 minutes.
In other news, I am just about done completing the finishing touches in both the dining room and living room for my Thrift Shop Makeover Challenge. The living room should have the final reveal tomorrow. I think I might paint my dining room table, so look for that next week.
Today, I decided to make a wreath (no cost!) for the inside of the front door. I had an old grapevine wreath in the garage and decided to fashion a wreath using materials I already had.
I took a shirt I never really loved that I found on clearance last year at Macy's and cut the flower appliques off. Then, I used some bird paper cut outs I already had. Finally, I added a Frozen Charlotte made by Sarah at My So Called Junky Life and some vintage ribbon I had in my stash. I hot glued it and it was done in less than 30 minutes:
Yesterday was picture frame painting day. I bought some of the little sample bottles of Glidden paint at Home Depot in Vintage Yellow and Granny Smith Apple. I also had a can of Rust Oleum Glossy Berry Pink leftover from a previous project. Here's a peek at those:
I also have some news to share! I am the Democrat & Chronicle's new community blogger for Irondequoit, my town. The D & C is the area's largest daily newspaper and I look forward to blogging about the community I adore so much. Stay tuned for more details.
Do I also need to remind you why I love Thursdays so much? It's half price banana split day at Bruster's in the Ridge-Culver Plaza in Irondequoit. That weekly treat cannot come soon enough!
Have a beautiful day!
