{This is THE ONE.}

As you know, I closed my skin care business in September 2009. One question I continue to be asked by my former skin care customers is "What cream do you recommend to replace your face cream?"

I've been able to recommend products and give my thoughts on some really nice moisturizers over these past 16 months. I've tested so many products both for my own personal use and for the purpose of reviewing on this blog and I've yet the find "the one" that I am happy to use every single day as my day cream. I have found many great products but could never say "This is THE ONE I want to recommend as a replacement."

A couple weeks back, I told you about how I have been using a "hand cream" on my face. It won "Best Hand Cream" category in C & G's Best in Beauty Awards 2010 and it is a fabulous cream. The ingredients, though, make it worthy of use on other parts of the body, including the face.

Water (Aqua), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Emulsifying Wax NF, Caprylic/Capric Acid, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Gluconolactone (and) Sodium Benzoate, Cetyl Alcohol, Tocopherol, Tapioca Starch, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract

For reference, here is what was in my best-selling Goat's Milk Facial Cream, which was featured in Martha Stewart Body + Soul magazine in the September 2008 issue:
Distilled Water, Certified Organic Aloe Vera Juice, Sunflower Oil, Meyenberg Goat's Milk, Grapeseed Oil, Lavender Hydrosol, Shea Butter, Witch Hazel Distillate, Emulsifying Wax NF, Vegetable Glycerin, Green Tea Extract, Niacinamide, Vitamin E, Lavender Essential Oil, Rose Geranium Essential Oil, Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Sorbic Acid

As you can see, the aloe vera juice, sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, and glycerin are key ingredients in both. For those of you who used my cream and are looking for something with a very similar texture, I wholeheartedly recommend this. The Seed product is a very wholesome cream. It is packed full of natural ingredients and this one is free of fragrance and essential oils so it really can be used by everyone.

I love skin care products. I have tried many wonderful products over the years. While on the quest for a wonderful, effective, and simple moisturizer, I never could say "I fully endorse this product as a replacement for my own" to my customers. Until now. I've given it 5 full weeks of daily facial use. My skin has responded beautifully to it.

Let's take a look at the key ingredients and see why this works:

Aloe Vera Juice--I am such a believer in aloe for the skin that I have purchased aloe vera juice to drink and have done this for years. It really is a wonderful ingredient and when I do not use products with aloe or when I go without drinking it, my skin suffers.

Aloe can help repair damaged, irritated, sensitive, cracked, or burned skin. It is wonderfully soothing. It also contains Vitamin B1, B2, B6, and Vitamin C, as well as 20 amino acids. It is packed with nutrients which make it an ideal ingredient in skin care. It is skin protective and can act as a natural barrier to protect it from toxins. Aloe vera is something I look for right near the top of any ingredients list before I purchase products.

Sunflower Oil--this can help calm irritated skin and prevent acne in many people; very rich is Vitamins A, C, D, and E; naturally antibacterial

Grapeseed Oil--suitable for every skin type, from oily to very dry. This is high in linoleic acid and helps the skin retain moisture. It also has antioxidant properties. This oil is also wonderful at making your skin appear radiant.

Jojoba Oil--This one is great for the skin because it is very similar to the skin's own sebum and is easily absorbed and  can help draw out the oil and debris from the pores. It's great for oily skin and nourishing for dry skin. It is a healing oil and works beautifully on sensitive types as well. It is rich in the B vitamins and also contains Vitamin E.

There is natural glycerin in this product to add and attract moisture to the skin as well. It really is a fantastic cream.

The C & G Bottom Line

This is the one I can recommend without reservation to my former skin care customers. This is also the one cream I can recommend to you without a doubt for an affordable, high quality facial cream. Yes, it was designed by the company to be a hand cream. It is a great hand cream--the best--but it also is my go to facial cream that I use and will continue to use. It's the best one I've found for my somewhat dry, sensitive skin. It doesn't clog my pores, leave a greasy residue, or cause breakouts or irritation. I apply this after a serum in the morning and it's a great base for my mineral makeup.

I fully endorse this product. I've not been paid to do so and this endorsement is my opinion. This is C & G's holy grail face cream. I love it!

Did I mention that this product is $7.99 for a 3.5 ounce tube?  You cannot beat that for a high quality cream without chemicals, fillers, and artificial ingredients.

To Buy:

Go right to the Seed store online. They offer free shipping on this--so the $7.99 includes that as well. You just pay tax. I just had one of these mailed to my mom and it was a grand total of just $8.63!
