{the perfect cold weather drink}

It is COLD out there today. I had the AWD on my little SUV in full force, braved the lake effect snow, and went out to meet friends for coffee like I do almost every morning after dropping the boys off at school.

I ran a couple of errands and came home and couldn't seem to beat the chill from outside. I knew just what to do--have some chocolate chai. A few weeks ago, I told you about a local woman named Peggy who happens to make and sell wonderful chai mixes.

My friend and C & G reader, Kristin, happened to give me a package of the Chocolate Chai  from Peggy's Perfect Chai Mix. It is so easy to make--just add 4 teaspoons of mix to 6 ounces of boiling water and sweeten it the way you'd like to. I have a container of vanilla sugar. I actually use Sugar in the Raw and stick a vanilla bean in it to infuse the flavor. This is the perfect complement to the chai mix.

This chai really tastes like the chai you would get at your favorite cafe. The chocolate mixed with the spice notes is pure heaven. I recommend this to all.

If you're looking for stocking stuffer ideas or just want to give yourself a little treat, check out Peggy's Perfect Chai Mix. When you consider that the last time I had a small chai in a cafe it was almost $4, this is a very economical option right in your own kitchen!
