{silk naturals review}

A few short days ago, I made a post looking for your suggestions for a lip color to replace my old favorite lipstick from Estee Lauder in a shade called Divine Wine. My lipstick is empty...it's a decade old....I just adore the color.

I received some great suggestions and actually decided to take the advice of a reader and place an order from Silk Naturals, a small company is Trumansburg, New York.

My order arrived today and I am very pleasantly surprised. I can be extra picky at times, but this line exceeded my expectations.

My own quibble--the ingredients are not listed on the labels. They are clearly listed on the site, but they are not on the labels. This is actually an FDA labeling requirement. That is my one and only issue with this order. I hate to make any type of negative comment since I am so in love with my colors, but I am letting you know in case you intend to order and this is of major concern to you.

The ingredients in all 3 lippies are really stellar. When I first applied each one, I noticed immediately how creamy and divine the texture is. This applies to all three formulas. These are relatively long wearing, the colors don't bleed, and my lips do not dry out at all.

I am really excited about this line. I think I may have found "the one." In fact, I know I did! I found a match--not just a very similar shade--but a shade that looks the same on my lips as the Divine Wine! I actually ordered Raisin thinking it'd be most similar just based on the swatches on the monitor. On my lips, though, the Private Reserve Lip Gloss in Vintage is a dead ringer. In the photo, it looks warmer and more rusty. Please don't let this trick you--it really is a beautiful neutral that those with warm or cool skin (like mine) can wear.

I also am loving the Fig Leaf (left). It is a beautiful plum meets raisin shade. The Raisin (right) is also delightful!

I also would like to tell you that I find these to be superior in quality and texture than my favorite Josie Maran and Bare Escentuals lip products. Keep in mind that you can buy about 4 or 5 of the Silk Naturals for the price of one of those.

I am really happy that I tried this brand. These lip products are really lovely and I'm already plotting another order from the company for some other things!
