{monday beauty: alima's new fall colors}

I have talked about Alima Pure before here on the blog and recommended the line. It is one of the best mineral makeup lines out there. A couple of weeks back, I was sent some samples of the new Perfectly Tailored Fall 2010 Collection to try.

I have been experimenting with the shades and have tested each color out and cannot wait to tell you about them. First of all, I have to tell you that these shadows are really an ideal texture. I typically gravitate toward the mattes when it comes to my eye colors, but I don't want them to be completely flat. The one completely matte shade sent to me is matte without being dull. I like a very, very light hint of shimmer. I'm not talking about disco ball glitter--just a very sophisticated and chic hint of shimmer. The other shades do possess this quality. This really quite possibly could be my favorite shadow formulation.

The first color I'll talk about is Jacquard. Jacquard is a muted and gentle creamy shade with a ever so faint hint of gold. It has a very soft touch of shimmer to it, but it is still ideal for daytime wear.

Tulle is another shade in the collection. Truth be told, I didn't think I'd like this one. Sometimes the yellow-golden tones make me look ill. Not so with this one. This is an ultra sheer golden tint. I love it under the brow bone.

Brocade will be a staple for this fall. It is completely matte without being dull and it is just a brilliant shade of gray. Gray is another tricky one--if it isn't the right tone, it'll accentuate any dark circles or shadows. This one didn't do that--it did bring out the blue in my eyes, though!

My most favorite of the four was definitely Velvet.  Velvet is stunning. It is a rich purple with a smoky hue to it. There is a very subtle shimmer and this is divine. It's a luxurious color and will look great in the evening this fall. This can be made as subtle as you'd like, though. I have swiped it on gently with a light hand and then I have made it deeper by building up the color.

This four shadow collection is now available on the Alima Pure site and retails for $25. That's a good deal for 4 colors. The best part of the deal? Alima Pure will donate $2 to The Global Fund for Women with every set sold.

Disclosure: I was sent these shadows by Alima Pure for possible review. This is no way affected the outcome of this review.
