{lazy library afternoon}

Thursday, July 1, 2010

Today has been one of those lazy pre holiday weekend kind of days. Nick went to do some arts and crafts at camp this afternoon and Ben and I headed to the library.

Since he turned five last week, he is now old enough for his own library card. What a rite of passage! Both of the boys love to read and we are frequently at one of the two town libraries or in the aisles at Barnes & Noble. I just have to show you Benjamin's signature on his card...he was short and sweet with it:

We had a nice afternoon at the library. We sat and read some books together. Ben loves Frog & Toad and has been reading the old Dick and Jane books. Ben then selected some DVDs to borrow while I was picking some summer reads.

Here is what I chose:

Before we checked our books and DVDs out at the counter, I stopped by the library's "garage sale" table. All proceeds benefit the library. I was so excited to find an item I just featured on the blog this morning!!! I bought a vintage hobnail planter marked down to $2. I am putting a little pink cosmos in it to put on a white wicker table later today. I love it and am always happy to find milkglass or hobnail pieces for my collection.

I'll be back tomorrow or maybe sooner...I have a great {Etsy Love: Blue} collection to share with you to wrap up the days of Red, White and Blue. I also am trying out three more Burt's Bees products--the Beeswax & Royal Jelly Night Cream, Radiance Serum and the Radiance Eye Cream. I am only a couple days in and will have to test them more before sharing opinions...
