Shop Local: Nature's Child

We returned to the charming little hamlet of Olcott Beach this weekend. I wrote an in depth piece about this place several weeks ago. This was the final weekend that the Olcott Beach Carousel Park was open for business before closing for the winter season. It was fabulous. All of the Lakeview Village Shoppes had trick or treating for the children and there were activites such as pumpkin painting and apple bobbing.

We really had a wonderful time.  Unlike last time, Tom was able to join us. This meant that he could walk around with the boys while I browsed the quaint little shops. My favorite little shop was Nature's Child.

Nature's Child is a really eclectic blend of handmade jewelry, vintage finds, thrift shop wares and all sorts of neat creations. One could buy everything from a faux Louis Vuitton handbag to upcycled handmade bags made from sweaters. The aroma of scented oils and incense wafts through the shop and shopped are greeted with smiles and friendly banter.

I found a great handmade birthday gift for a family member in there and picked up a business card when I was leaving. I noticed that the shop owner, Rory, has an ArtFire (a marketplace similar, but much smaller than Etsy). To look at some of the handmade jewelry offered by Nature's Child, check out her ArtFire shop.

For those of you in the Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Rochester areas, head to Nature's Child right in charming Olcott Beach at 5955 Ontario Street.
