ETSY LOVE: Rachel Culp

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Rachel Culp is the woman behind DeepBlueC on Etsy. For more than two decades, she has been creating one of a kind boutique items for women and children. Rachel has designed pieces for rock stars, their children, and for other celebrities including Liv Tyler. You'll find unique embellished jeans and denim jackets at DeepBlueC--Rachel will even customize maternity jeans for you.

Her one of a kind pieces for little girls, however, are what really stand out to me. In this shop, you will find ready to ship jeans that are already made. For the most customizable option, though, Rachel offers jeans in a size 1 through 10 and then will make them after you order.

If it is within your budget to splurge on these pieces, you'll find shabby chic inspired patchwork jeans, Dr. Seuss-themed jeans, and so much more for your little fashionista. There are matching tops available at Mama Patrice, a shop owner on Etsy who collaborates on projects with Rachel.

I don't have a daughter, but I do adore all shades of purple, and the top outfit  is just so sweet.

Women have more even options than children in this shop. For adults, you send Rachel your own jeans so you know that they will be a perfect fit. She even can transform your sweaters that you love but can't wear anymore into part of the customized jeans. Buttons and patches that are meaningful to you may also be incorporated into the process. How cool is that?

I am still amazed at the customized maternity jeans. When I was last pregnant in 2005, I had a coupel pair of jeans I just loved and having something unique done to them would have been fun.

Interesting tidbit: Rachel is the daughter of actor Robert Culp. He was in I Spy with Bill Cosby in the 1960s, played an FBI agent in the Greatest American Hero, and was Ray's father in-law on Everybody Loves Raymond. The creativity gene obviously was handed down because Ms. Culp is very talented at her art!

Please head over to DeepBlueC today and let Rachel know that Chic & Green sent you.
