Scent Rewind

I've talked about my loved for Peach Hyacinth from Victoria's Secret (for which there are no duplications with the same notes). I have a bottle from 1992 or 1993 of lotion that I don't even touch. I love this scent so much and it takes me back to college.

I was at a local thrift store (the same one I found my favorite Sigrid Olsen fitted denim jacket for $4.99 new with original tags) and found a "new" box of Peach Hyacinth soap! It was 59 cents. The box is a bit worn, but the soap is fine--looks a bit dry, but fine. Will I use this bar of glycerin soap? No. It dried my then oily skin as an 18 year old. So it would wreak havoc now. The last bar I bought was in 1993. Seeing this in the store was like taking a trip in a time machine...so I had to buy a piece of nostalgia.

It's funny, though. I clearly recall the two other "must have" scents for me back then from VS: Her Majesty's Rose and Romantic Bouquet. It is funny how I would never be drawn to these 15 years later--and how I am drawn to bakery notes now.

Back then I also wore Sunflowers from Elizabeth Arden, Liz Claiborne Realities and then Encounter from VS came out--my sophomore year of college favorite. Back in the late 80s, I was an Exclamation! and Electric Youth kind of girl.

So I ask you, my readers, what scents do you like now in 2008, and what did you like "back in the day?"
