Etsy LOVE: Jellybeans

Wednesday, August 6, 2008

Last summer I bought a really uplifting print from Etsy seller Jellybeans to frame and hang in the boys' room after I repainted it. Well, the baby bears with sailboats are still up on their taupe walls and I have finally decided on a wall color: a cool-toned blue much like the "Nantucket Blue" I have with crisp French white in the living room. This print ($15) will look great hanging by the doorway. It is appropriately titled "Brothers" and I like what it symbolizes.

I like the simplicity of the artwork in this Etsy shop. My art preferences vary. Claude Monet has long been my favorite artist and 15 years back, I decorated my dorm in wall to wall Impressionism. At home, I like a less cluttered look and have black and white photos of Paris and a a large colored photo of a French cafe in the living room. The dining room has only one framed picture: a watercolor painting of the fountain in Savannah's Forsyth Park to remind me of my former home. My decorating style is very much Country Living magazine meets Shabby Chic. I do not typically like another with a modern twist when it comes to art.

While the style of art at Jellybeans is a bit more modern than I normally prefer, I am keeping my eye on some colorful poppy pictures for my hallway! You'll find themes of happiness, togetherness, simplicity and colorful nature at Jellybeans.
